Sam Davies, Senior Content producer at Additive Intelsight, sits down with us for the latest episode. restor3d Cambre Kelly, co-founder and Chief Tech Officer.

Restor3d is an innovative medical device company that uses biomechanics, 3D printing and AI to provide personalised surgical solutions to medical professionals. In recent weeks, the company has announced the successful implantation of its Kinos Axiom Total Ankle System, developed with 3D printing, and the launch of its r3id personalized surgery platform.

Throughout our conversation, we discuss the benefits of both products, while also touching on the company’s background, how it aims to achieve the scaled personalisation of medical devices, and what else is to come from the company in 2023.

Kelly spoke out about how the company will deliver personalized medical products on a large scale. “Our vision for this operation is to make it scalable. This includes scaling both the manufacturing operations and the front-end design. I mentioned [earlier] We are moving into a brand new facility. To realize this vision, we want to bring scale to our manufacturing asset. Another component is to add digital components to the front end.

“Our first step in that space is the launch r3id. This will make the process more efficient and frictionless for our surgeons and team. We also want to automate and streamline the design aspects of our team’s work. The more we can automate segmentation, design and other aspects of what we do on that business, the better we will be able achieve the vision for scaled, personalised orthopaedics.
