Tokunbo Talabi, the Secretary of Ogun State Government has been invited to appear before the Department of State Services and be questioned about recent allegations of fraud made against him.

An anonymous source at the DSS hinted to our correspondent that his invitation and subsequent questioning were the result of the accusations leveled against him.

Our correspondent was told by a source that the grill happened at the Ogun State Command headquarters of the DSS at Oke-Mosan in Abeokuta at 6:55 pm on Friday.

Talabi reportedly spent five hours being interrogated on Friday, but was then released on his own recognizance.

Talabi’s alleged involvement with Superflux Printing Limited, located on Acme Road, Ikeja, Lagos State, has in recent times come under close scrutiny

Our correspondent was informed that a senior lawyer from Nigeria, Mike Ozekhome submitted a request to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission as well as the Code of Conduct Bureau and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to demand a thorough investigation of the connection between an Independent National Electoral Commission and a company believed to belong to Talabi in the last election.

The source claimed that the agency had questioned the SSG regarding a petition Talabi filed on his behalf.

Our correspondent was told by the source that the DSS State Command initiated the investigation in order to determine the veracity and truthfulness of allegations against Talabi regarding the printing on ballot paper among other things.

Sources said that he was also questioned about his alleged involvement of Superflux Printing Limited with the Covid-19 palliative controversy.

The DSS was also said to have asked Talabi questions on the company’s connection to significant sums of money related to Ogun State and its role in the 2023 elections.

The allegations were deemed to raise concerns over the possible impact on the credibility for the upcoming election.

The source, however, assured the general public of the command’s commitment to a thorough and meticulous investigation.

The agency is attempting to sort out the complicated web of allegations that surround Talabi’s association with Superflux Printing Limited.

This investigation’s outcome will have a wide-ranging impact on Ogun State, its government and the state itself.

Talabi had not returned calls to his mobile phone.

He also did not reply to the DSS text message that was sent to him regarding his invitation
