Amiriya Press produces 1st batch of photocopy paper, begins Braille printing

CAIRO – 6 July 2023: Amiriya Press Egypt’s most prominent printing press, produced its first wave of photocopy paper, branded Tahya Misr, after the price of imported paper soared painfully after the devaluation of the pound.


 


According to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday, this paper is used in photocopiers as well as laser printers. 


 


According to the report, Amiriya Press was provided with Braille printers for visually impaired people with a roll feed (tape feed) that can print large volumes. Amiriya Press can now print with special inks such as magnetic inks and thermal inks.


 


The volume of investments allocated to replacement and renovation operations to maintain the Amiriya Press’ production capacity amounted to L.E.47 million, the report added.
